Augusta Block Project

in collaboration with Johanna Keefe & Tire City Potters

By making casting and building 6 part molds, Johanna and I, turned historical Augusta Blocks into decorative lights, vases, utensil holders, planters, and candles. we accomplished such versatility by creating different mold tops to suit our variety of commissions

Georgia Vitrified Brick and Clay Company opened in 1902 in Augusta, Georgia. Bricks labeled "Augusta Block", which were used to pave roads and sidewalks all over the South primarily in Augusta, GA and Petersburg, FL . These bricks were produced from the early 1900s to mid 1950s.
